Senior WordPress / WooCommerce Developer for Custom Agency Builds

We are looking for a senior WordPress / WooCommerce developer to join our long-term bench for custom, non-trivial builds. This is not template work, not page-builder work, and not a short one-off fix. We need someone who is comfortable building clean architecture, solving complex WordPress problems, and working on technical projects that require real depth. What we work on Our projects usually include: - Custom WooCommerce functionality Checkout flows, payments, subscriptions, custom business logic - Performance optimization Core Web Vitals, real-world speed, scalability, not just Lighthouse scores - Large or complex websites Multi-language, multi-site, high content volume, structured content - Advanced ACF implementation Options Pages, flexible content, reusable content systems - Gutenberg and custom blocks Clean block-based development, not classic editor or builders - API integrations CRMs, marketing tools, automation platforms, third-party services - Debugging and maintenance Plugin conflicts, server issues, database problems, complex edge cases What this is not We are not looking for: - Elementor-only developers - “Install a theme and tweak it” type of work - Short-term, one-off fixes - Purely visual implementers without strong technical depth What we need from the right developer You should be able to: - Build custom WordPress and WooCommerce solutions using hooks, filters, and proper architecture - Decide when WordPress is the right tool and when a custom approach is needed - Work confidently in existing codebases - Communicate clearly and reliably in English - Care about quality, maintainability, and long-term scalability Required experience - 4+ years of WordPress / WooCommerce development experience - Strong PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL skills - Experience with custom themes and custom plugins - Solid understanding of performance, security, and scalability - Experience with ACF, Gutenberg, and custom block development - Experience with integrations and debugging complex technical issues Nice to have - Headless WordPress experience - Experience supporting agency workflows - Familiarity with long-term outsourced collaboration - Experience working on larger European client projects How we work - Long-term collaboration, often across multiple months or years - Direct communication via Slack and task management tools - Clear structure, expectations, and feedback - Focus on clean delivery and reliable execution - We value people who think proactively and communicate early when something matters Screening question: Please share 2–3 WordPress or WooCommerce projects that best demonstrate your custom development experience.
