Website Migration & Modernization Specialist (Hibu → Squarespace)

Project Overview We are seeking an experienced web developer to migrate an existing multi-site company web presence from Hibu’s proprietary website platform to Squarespace. This is not a simple website rehosting project. Hibu utilizes a proprietary platform with no direct export/import tools available, so the selected contractor must be comfortable extracting, rebuilding, and optimizing website content and structure within Squarespace. We are particularly interested in candidates who leverage modern AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows, and automation to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and accuracy. Current Environment The existing web presence includes: * One primary corporate landing page * Seven (7) location-specific websites/pages * Multiple brands operating under the same parent company * Existing content, imagery, navigation, and SEO considerations that must be preserved where appropriate Scope of Work Phase 1 – Discovery & Assessment * Review existing Hibu-hosted websites * Inventory pages, content, forms, media assets, and functionality * Identify any content requiring manual recreation * Recommend Squarespace architecture and theme approach Phase 2 – Squarespace Migration * Rebuild and migrate website content into Squarespace * Preserve site structure and navigation * Recreate forms and user-facing functionality * Optimize mobile responsiveness * Maintain or improve SEO performance * Implement security and performance best practices Phase 3 – Content Updates * Update content on approximately half of the location sites (minor) * Revise privacy policies and other compliance-related content * Make minor copy and content corrections as directed Phase 4 – Squarespace Deployment * Prepare the completed site(s) for deployment to Squarespace * Assist with client testing and validation * Validate DNS, SSL, redirects, and performance * Assist with production cutover Phase 5 – Knowledge Transfer * Provide basic documentation * Deliver administrative access and deployment instructions * Conduct a brief handoff session if needed Required Skills * Strong Squarespace development experience * Website migration experience * HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP * SEO preservation during platform migrations * DNS and SSL management * Website performance optimization * Experience working with proprietary website builders Preferred Qualifications * Experience migrating websites from Hibu or similar proprietary platforms * Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows * Certified experience with Squarespace a must * Ability to automate repetitive migration tasks * Strong communication and project management skills Deliverables * Fully functional Squarespace website environment * All identified content migrated and validated * Required content updates completed * Website successfully converted to Squarespace and deployed to production * Documentation and administrative handoff * Zero critical functionality issues at launch To Apply Please include: 1.
