Platform Engineer for Healthcare Platform
Worldwide
The Role We're looking for a versatile Platform Engineer who's comfortable moving across the stack: backend services, web apps, mobile, and the cloud infrastructure that ties it all together. You'll ship features, harden systems, and help us scale. This is a high-ownership, generalist role for someone who likes breadth and wants their work in users' hands quickly. What you'll do Design and operate backend services and APIs that power both web and mobile. Build and maintain web applications (consumer-facing and internal/practitioner tools). Contribute to our mobile apps (Kotlin on Android, with shared/cross-platform code). Own pieces of our AWS cloud infrastructure — deployments, CI/CD, observability, and reliability. Work with relational data: schema design, migrations, and performance. Integrate third-party services (payments, messaging, real-time video, push notifications). Care about security and privacy in a health context — handling sensitive data responsibly. What we're looking for Strong general engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production software. Comfort being a generalist — you can move between backend, frontend, mobile, and infra without needing to live in just one. Solid experience with AWS and containerized, production-grade deployments. Strong grasp of databases and API design. Mobile experience with Kotlin is a strong plus. Pragmatism: you balance speed and quality, and you can own a problem from idea to production. Bonus: experience in a regulated or privacy-sensitive domain (health, fintech, etc.). Tech & languages You don't need every item, but this is the world you'll be working in: Languages: TypeScript / JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, SQL, plus shell scripting (Bash). Swift or Go a plus. Web: React / Next.js, modern frontend tooling, HTML/CSS. Mobile: Kotlin (Android) with shared/cross-platform code; some Swift/iOS exposure welcome. Backend: Node.js / TypeScript services, REST APIs, PostgreSQL. Cloud & infra: AWS (managed Kubernetes/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM), Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), GitOps-style CD, CI pipelines, observability/monitoring. Integrations: payments (Stripe), real-time video, push notifications (APNs/FCM), transactional messaging. Data/ML adjacent: comfort working alongside Python services is welcome (no ML background required).
