Long term job for publisher with 10 sites. -- Senior WordPress / Elementor Designer Wanted Redesign the Homepage of a Large Tourism Website (Long-Term Opportunity) We are an Arizona-based tourism publisher building what we believe will become the ultimate tourism portal dedicated to Tucson and Southern Arizona. We are looking for an experienced WordPress / Elementor designer to redesign only the homepage of our existing WordPress website. This is NOT a website rebuild. The existing website uses the JNews theme and contains hundreds of established tourism articles that will remain exactly as they are. The new homepage will serve as a modern traffic director, guiding visitors into our existing tourism categories and articles. --- Design Concept We will provide two design examples with this project posting. Our new homepage will combine both design styles. Design Style #1 — Category Card Grid The homepage will begin with a clean grid of six feature cards arranged: - Three cards across - Three cards underneath Each card will represent one of our major tourism categories. Examples include: - Hotels - Restaurants - Things To Do - Parks - Hiking - Shopping - Museums - Events - Day Trips The purpose of these cards is to immediately direct visitors into our major sections. --- Design Style #2 — Sports Illustrated Layout After the feature card grid, the homepage will transition into large editorial "Hero Sections." Think of the homepage layout used by Sports Illustrated (SI.com). Each Hero Section consists of: - Large feature image - Strong headline - Brief introduction - Call-to-action button These sections highlight featured destinations and important tourism content while maintaining a clean editorial appearance. We will repeat this pattern throughout the homepage. --- Objective Our homepage should become a beautiful visual navigation system that quickly directs visitors into the hundreds of tourism articles already published throughout the website. The homepage is not intended to be a magazine. Its purpose is to efficiently direct visitors into the existing JNews website. --- Existing Website - WordPress - JNews Theme - Hundreds of tourism articles - Existing categories remain unchanged The homepage alone will be rebuilt using Elementor. Dynamic sections such as: - Latest Articles - Featured Stories - Tourism News should continue updating automatically from WordPress. --- Images We provide virtually all photography. Applicants should be comfortable making quick professional adjustments including: - Cropping - Resizing - Composition improvements - Minor image cleanup Strong Photoshop or image editing experience is a plus. --- Elementor Philosophy We prefer clean native Elementor development. Homepage sections should be completely reusable. Future editors should easily be able to: - Move Hero Sections - Duplicate Sections - Replace images - Change feature cards - Expand the homepage over time without custom coding. --- Communication Excellent written English is required. The publisher is located in Arizona. Applicants should be comfortable collaborating during Arizona business hours, generally between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM Arizona time. We prefer developers who communicate regularly and enjoy working collaboratively throughout the project. --- Work Must Be Performed Personally The individual hired must personally complete all work. No subcontracting or outsourcing is permitted.
