Senior AWS Backend Engineer (Node.js)- US Only (no agencies)

Objective Experienced Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js and AWS Serverless to help modernize, optimize, and scale a production cloud platform. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring someone who can quickly understand existing systems, reduce technical debt, improve platform reliability, and build scalable cloud-native backend services. What You'll Work On • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js • Build and support REST APIs and event-driven applications on AWS • Modernize and optimize existing serverless applications • Upgrade and improve AWS Lambda workloads • Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native architectures • Improve backend performance, reliability, and observability • Optimize DynamoDB and PostgreSQL data models and queries • Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Requirements • Extensive experience building and deploying applications on AWS • Expert-level experience with Node.js • Strong experience with: o AWS Lambda o API Gateway o EventBridge o SNS o S3 o DynamoDB o PostgreSQL o GitLab CI/CD • Experience building REST APIs and event-driven architectures • Strong understanding of serverless application design and AWS best practices • Experience optimizing production systems for scalability, performance, and reliability • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
