Build an Automated Virginia Trustee's Deed Scraper (Statewide) Job Description I'm looking for an experienced developer to build an automated scraping system that collects Trustee's Deeds recorded throughout all counties in Virginia. These deeds represent properties that were sold through foreclosure auctions (trustee sales). The goal is to create a system that can: Collect all Trustee's Deeds recorded during the previous 5 months (historical data). Continue checking land record websites daily and automatically collect newly recorded Trustee's Deeds. Store all collected data in a structured database or spreadsheet. For each Trustee's Deed, I would like the system to collect: Recording Date Sale Date (if available) Property Address County or Independent City Sale Amount (Auction Sale Price) Previous Owner(s) Name Trustee Name (if available) Instrument/Book/Page or Document Number (if available) Project Goals The system should: Automatically search all Virginia counties and independent cities. Identify newly recorded Trustee's Deeds. Avoid collecting duplicate records. Run automatically on a daily schedule. Export data to Excel, Google Sheets, CSV, or a database. Be reliable and easy to maintain. Ideally, I would like the project to be built in or migrated to Replit or Lovable so I can easily make updates, modify the workflow, and maintain the system myself after it's completed. Ideal Candidate Experience with: Web scraping Public records County land record websites Real estate data Python Playwright Selenium Puppeteer APIs (if available) Automation Database design Experience scraping government or county websites is a big plus. Deliverables A fully automated scraper covering all counties and independent cities in Virginia Historical collection of the previous 5 months of Trustee's Deeds Automatic daily collection of newly recorded Trustee's Deeds Source code with clear documentation Instructions for deployment and maintenance Ability to easily expand the system to additional states in the future ( note I would like to build this and have a very reasonable monthly expense )
