OpenClaw Engineer: Self-Hosted Personal AI Assistant on Mac mini (Claude API, Tailscale, iMessage)
Worldwide
I own a roofing company in Omaha, NE and I'm hiring one engineer (not an agency bench) to build a fully private, always-on personal AI assistant on my own hardware. Budget $4,000-$10,000 fixed price, phased delivery. Quality and security over cost. CORE ARCHITECTURE (non-negotiable): - OpenClaw on a Mac mini M4 Pro in my office - Never exposed to the public internet - Tailscale or equivalent private network - Claude API as the reasoning engine; all data on my hardware or processed under my own API keys - Encryption at rest; entire corpus exportable in open formats (JSON/Markdown + original audio) - Every workflow has a heartbeat - silent failures must alert me SCOPE HIGHLIGHTS: - Channels: iMessage (primary interface), Microsoft 365/Outlook mail + calendar via Microsoft Graph, Quo business VoIP (formerly OpenPhone); morning brief, evening recap, proactive context-aware pings - Wearable pipeline: Omi (omi.me) transcripts auto-ingested nightly into searchable memory; open-source backend, self-hosted ingestion preferred - Call & voicemail capture: conditional call forwarding from personal iPhone lines to a transcribing VoIP endpoint; iOS native call recordings (iCloud Notes sync) auto-detected and ingested; one-tap iOS Shortcut to record and pre-tag calls - Nightly auto-study: transcribe, speaker-tag, match to CRM records by phone/address; extract commitments, dollar amounts, dates, action items; surface overdue commitments; weekly cross-call pattern analysis. No third-party call-intelligence SaaS may store audio - Business integrations (read-only to start): Roofr, Spotio, QuickBooks, CompanyCam, HailTrace, OneClick Code - Delegation layer routing outputs to team roles (sales scorecards, speed-to-lead alerts, permit watchdog, AR reminder drafts) - draft/approval mode for first 60 days - Historical backfill: full Outlook history (Graph), complete iMessage history (local Mac database), QuickBooks history; entity-linked knowledge map (people, companies, addresses, claims, projects); continuously maintained Open Loops Report ranked by dollar impact and age - Later phases: adaptive revenue/margin forecaster, monthly read-only financial audit (no payment, transfer, or account-change capability may exist anywhere in the system), weekly operator review, consumables replenishment proposals with per-order approval Suggested phasing (you may propose an alternative): Phase 1 core build + channels + capture + auto-study + backfill. Phase 2 delegation layer + business integrations + forecaster + audit. Phase 3 remaining modules. Full detailed spec shared with shortlisted candidates. TO APPLY, ANSWER THESE FOUR QUESTIONS: 1. How many OpenClaw (or comparable open-source assistant) deployments have you completed - and how many self-hosted on Apple hardware? 2. Your security approach for a system connected to a business owner's full email: network isolation, secrets handling, and blast radius if one integration is compromised. 3. Do you provide handoff documentation an IT generalist could follow, including key-rotation instructions for every API key in the system? 4. Your fixed-price quote and timeline against this scope, with proposed phasing and milestones. Requirements: 90%+ Job Success, 10+ completed jobs, hands-on API/systems evidence. Some US Central time overlap for check-ins. No no-code-only builders - n8n is fine as glue, not as the core.
