Role 1: Data Engineer You’ll be doing things like: - Building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and analytics environments - Designing data warehouses, data models, and reporting-ready datasets - Integrating data from APIs, databases, SaaS platforms, and files - Building with tools like Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, AWS, Python, and SQL - Improving pipeline monitoring, testing, documentation, and error handling Role 2: Analytics Consultant You’ll be doing things like: - Working directly with clients to understand their reporting and analytics needs - Building dashboards and reporting systems in Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and Looker - Designing KPIs, business metrics, data models, and executive reporting - Improving dashboard layout, usability, styling, and reporting clarity - Turning complicated data into useful information that helps clients make better decisions Project Examples: 1. We manage the analytics environment for a fast-growing ecommerce company. We combine customer, order, product, returns, and marketing data in Snowflake, maintain the underlying data workflows, and build Power BI reporting that the team uses to make operational and growth decisions. 2. We’re helping a telehealth startup take ownership of its data engineering environment. The stack includes MySQL on AWS RDS, Airbyte, dbt, Redshift Serverless, and Looker. The work includes building and maintaining ETL pipelines, improving monitoring and error handling, and supporting teams across the business. Who are you? - You’re proactive about getting the work done and communicating about it - You’re sharp, independent, and can figure things out on your own (and I’m here for support too, of course!) - Extremely valuable if you’re able to be client-facing and are great at communicating directly with clients ----- Details - Not urgent; really looking to find the right people and match their skills to the right fit for a project - Starting with 30 to 40 hours monthly - Monday to Friday - need 6 to 8 hours overlap with 9am to 6pm EST, availability for client meetings, and responsiveness throughout the day - Preferably in Canada or the US, but open to anyone who’s fluent in English and time zone friendly ----- Pay - $30 to $75 USD per hour depending on your experience - If you’re crushing it long-term, there's room to talk bonuses, profit-sharing or retainers - ^Everything is a conversation.
