Direct-Response Scriptwriter / Creative Strategist — Meta & TikTok Video Ads (DTC Dog Apparel)
Worldwide
Hard requirement — read before applying You must have hands-on experience creating ad creative for paid Meta campaigns with real spend behind it — scripts, hooks, or briefs that ran as Meta/TikTok ads where you saw the performance results and iterated based on them. If your background is email copy, landing pages, SEO content, organic social, or you've never watched your own work live inside an ad account's numbers — this is not your role, and it will show in our screening within ten minutes. To apply, include: 2–3 video ads you personally wrote or briefed, the approximate spend that ran behind them, and what happened. Spend level and iteration story matter more than ROAS screenshots. Applications without this will not be reviewed. About us Spark Paws is a fast-growing dog apparel e-commerce brand selling worldwide. We run a heavily AI-powered operation: an extensive AI-indexed UGC video library, an established creator program generating a steady flow of raw content, an in-house video editing team (scaling up now for Q4), and best-in-class creative analytics on Meta and TikTok. The strategy layer is systematized: data arrives pre-digested, angle research is AI-assisted, and spend allocation runs on neutral auto-rules — whichever content performs earns more budget. What we need is the judgment inside the system: someone who can watch ads and know why they won, write hooks that stop thumbs, and run a disciplined weekly production loop. The role — Creative Pod Lead (~20 hrs/week) You lead one of two creative pods. You own 2–3 of our product types end to end and direct a pod of 3 video editors (~30 short videos/week). Your week: Iterate the angle roadmap — every product type has a living map of selling points and angles (e.g. for a collar: safety, easy snap-off, comfort, big-dog control, style, social proof). You decide each week's testing slate from it: what to test, iterate, or retire, based on the performance report. Write the briefs — scripts and hooks with visual direction: exact hook wording, block-by-block structure for 20–25s cuts, shot descriptions, CTA timing, footage keywords for our tagged library. AI drafting assists; your judgment decides. QC everything — proofread every video your pod produces before testing: hook strength, first 3 seconds, CTA, correct product understanding, dog-parent-native language. Own the cadence — briefs out early week, production midweek, full batch live in testing before the weekend. Every week. Read results and iterate — simplified weekly reports (no raw data analysis), watch winners and losers, diagnose mechanisms, record learnings in the angle map. You work directly with the founder (product briefs, new-angle alignment), our media buyer (test slate), and your editors. You do not buy media, manage the ad account, handle creator relationships, or review organic content — those are covered. Who this fits A direct-response scriptwriter or junior creative strategist who has lived inside the paid-ads iteration loop — wrote, watched the numbers, rewrote Thinks in customer pain and curiosity, not product features; can produce usable hooks on the spot Decisive at volume: dozens of ship/fix/kill calls weekly without perfectionism paralysis Organized enough to run a weekly production cadence and hold 3 editors to deadlines Comfortable under a hands-on founder in a flat team; creative autonomy is earned through results Bonus: dog owner, or demonstrably fluent in dog-parent culture and humor Not this role: media buying or account management, email/landing-page copywriting, brand strategy, hands-on editing, community management. If your proposal pitches an account audit or a retainer, you've misread the post. How we hire Short screening call (expect specific questions about your past work — real numbers, real systems), then a paid trial project simulating an actual product launch: competitor analysis, launch plan, and production-ready scripts. We hire on demonstrated work, not proposals. Fast decision after the trial.
