Programme Overview The MSc in Internet of Things with Artificial Intelligence combines IoT engineering, embedded systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data engineering and artificial intelligence. The tutor should help the student understand concepts and develop practical competence. IoT Fundamentals IoT architectures, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Arduino. Networking TCP/IP, MQTT, CoAP, REST APIs, Bluetooth LE, ZigBee, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, 5G. Cybersecurity Authentication, encryption, secure communications, privacy and device security. Cloud & Edge AWS, Azure, GCP, Edge AI, containers, deployment. Data Engineering Data collection, preprocessing, streaming, databases, feature engineering. Machine Learning Supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, model evaluation, hyperparameter tuning. Deep Learning Neural networks, CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, transfer learning, TensorFlow, PyTorch. AI for IoT Predictive maintenance, smart cities, TinyML, edge inference, sensor analytics. Programming Python, SQL, Git, Linux, APIs, object-oriented programming. Mathematics Linear algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, optimisation. Research Literature reviews, scientific writing, dissertation planning, presentations. Tutor Responsibilities • Weekly online coaching sessions • Explain difficult concepts • Review Python notebooks and code • Debug ML models • Guide coursework understanding • Explain research papers • Assist with exam preparation • Mentor dissertation planning (without writing assessed work) Preferred Experience Commercial ML engineering experience, IoT or embedded AI exposure, teaching or tutoring experience, strong communication skills, GitHub portfolio and cloud deployment experience.
