Full-Stack Engineer (Python/FastAPI, Next.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, OpenAI, GenAI) - Initial assessment

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer / AI Engineer to build a modern rental property marketplace platform from scratch, this project is just to test freelancers skills for the bigger project. The platform will connect renters, property owners, and agents using intelligent matching and personalized feeds. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Next.js, React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, FastAPI, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLAlchemy, REST APIs, authentication, and scalable system design. The project requires designing a production-grade AWS architecture capable of supporting future growth. Experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront, Route53, SQS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, monitoring, observability, auto-scaling, caching strategies, background jobs, and distributed systems is highly preferred. A major component of the platform is AI-powered feed optimization and recommendation systems. We are looking for someone with experience building GenAI applications using OpenAI APIs, embeddings, vector databases (pgvector/Pinecone/Weaviate), RAG pipelines, semantic search, user profiling, ranking algorithms, analytics, A/B testing, and AI-driven personalization based on user behavior such as clicks, saves, searches, and engagement patterns. This is an opportunity to build a team that can create an end-to-end SaaS product and showcase expertise across multiple domains. We intentionally want someone who can demonstrate skills in software architecture, full-stack development, cloud engineering, DevOps, security (OWASP), database optimization, performance engineering, event-driven systems, microservices, and production AI systems.
