Job Title: WordPress / WooCommerce Developer Job Type: Full-time Job Overview We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate WordPress / WooCommerce Developer to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance e-commerce platforms and custom WordPress websites. You will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, digital marketers, and project managers to build scalable, secure, and conversion-optimized web solutions. Key Responsibilities Custom Theme & Plugin Development: Develop custom WordPress themes and WooCommerce plugins from scratch using standard PHP, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript, adhering to official WordPress coding standards. WooCommerce Customization: Customize checkout flows, product pages, payment gateways, and custom post types to meet complex business requirements. Feature Implementation: Translate UI/UX design wireframes (Figma/Adobe XD) into fully responsive, interactive, and pixel-perfect web pages. Performance Optimization: Continually optimize site loading speed, database queries, and Core Web Vitals to handle high-volume traffic efficiently. API & Third-Party Integration: Integrate WooCommerce with external systems (ERPs, CRMs, fulfillment centers, payment providers) using the WooCommerce REST API and Webhooks. Security & Maintenance: Implement strict security practices, conduct regular site/plugin updates, perform database cleanups, and maintain daily backup systems. Troubleshooting & Bug Fixing: Debug PHP errors, database deadlocks, plugin conflicts, and cross-browser issues promptly. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of proven experience in custom WordPress and WooCommerce development. Core Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and MySQL database management. Solid understanding of WordPress core architecture (Hooks, Actions, Filters, Custom Post Types, Taxonomy, and WP_Query). Strong front-end fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+ / jQuery). Experience working with the WordPress/WooCommerce REST API. Proficiency with modern developer tools: Git, WP-CLI, Composer, and local development environments (Local, Docker). Architecture & Best Practices: Strong understanding of responsive web design and mobile-first principles. Deep knowledge of website security, caching mechanisms (Redis, Object Cache, Varnish), and CDN integration (Cloudflare). Familiarity with web accessibility (WCAG) and technical SEO standards. Soft Skills: Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Proactive attitude with high attention to detail and code quality. Nice to Have Experience with Gutenberg block development (React.js for custom WP blocks). Knowledge of Headless WordPress architecture (using Next.js, Nuxt.js, or GraphQL / WPGraphQL). Experience in high-concurrency/high-traffic WooCommerce site architecture. Familiarity with automated deployment (CI/CD) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean).
