# Node.js & React Developer – Customer Operations Automation ## About ASHNET ASHNET is a New Zealand telecommunications and technology company providing broadband, VoIP, managed IT, and digital services. We are looking for a skilled **Node.js and React Developer** to help develop and improve our internal customer operations and automation systems. ## Role Overview This role combines software development, workflow automation, and operational system improvement. You will design and develop internal tools that support customer onboarding, fibre provisioning, technical support, billing, router logistics, and customer lifecycle management. You will work closely with our operations, customer support, accounts, and technical teams to identify repetitive manual processes and convert them into reliable automated workflows. ## Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain web applications using **Node.js and React**. * Build internal dashboards and operational management tools. * Automate customer onboarding and service provisioning workflows. * Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms through APIs and webhooks. * Improve ticketing, billing, customer management, and router-order processes. * Create tools to reduce manual data entry and operational errors. * Develop automated notifications, task assignments, status updates, and reporting. * Troubleshoot and improve existing applications and integrations. * Work with customer operations staff to understand business requirements. * Document developed systems, integrations, and workflows. * Maintain secure coding, access-control, and data-handling practices. ## Required Skills * Strong experience with **Node.js**. * Strong experience with **React.js**. * Experience building REST APIs and backend services. * Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases. * Experience integrating third-party APIs. * Understanding of authentication, permissions, and role-based access. * Experience with Git and version control. * Ability to understand business processes and convert them into technical solutions. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Good written and spoken English. ## Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following would be beneficial: * Telecommunications or ISP systems. * Customer relationship management systems. * Billing and payment integrations. * Customer support or ticketing systems. * Workflow automation. * Logistics or inventory management. * Splynx, Odoo, or similar business platforms. * Cloud deployment and server management. * Docker, Linux, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. * Webhooks, scheduled jobs, and background processing. ## Initial Project Scope The successful developer may initially assist with: * Customer onboarding automation. * Fibre order and provisioning status tracking. * Support ticket workflow automation. * Router shipping and stock-management tools. * Billing and payment-status integrations. * Internal operational dashboards. * Automated customer and staff notifications. * API integrations between ASHNET’s existing systems. ## What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who: * Can work independently and communicate progress clearly. * Understands both frontend and backend development. * Can review an existing process and recommend a practical technical solution. * Writes clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. * Is available for ongoing development and system improvements. * Takes data security and confidentiality seriously. ## Application Requirements Please include the following in your proposal: 1.
