Full-Stack Developer Upwork Market Consultation

I’m looking for several experienced Upwork freelancers to provide a one-time consultation about the current market for full-stack web development services.  My son is seriously considering leaving his full-time job to pursue freelance projects or remote work. As his parent, I’m concerned about the financial stability and uncertainty of this career path, especially in the current economic climate. I’m conducting this research on his behalf because I want to understand the realities of finding work on Upwork and help him make a careful, well-informed decision before taking such a significant step.I would like to understand how competitive this category is on Upwork and how difficult it is for a new freelancer to land their first job.  I’m particularly interested in hearing from freelancers who are relatively new to Upwork and have already successfully landed one or more jobs, especially those with project experience similar to my son’s.  He is a junior full-stack developer with approximately three years of professional experience. During the consultation, I would like to discuss:   - How competitive this category is on Upwork - How difficult it is for a new freelancer to secure a first project - Suitable project types, rates, and client segments for his experience level - How the client acquisition process changes after earning Top Rated or Top Rated Plus status - The role of invitations versus actively submitting proposals over the long term - Common challenges and risks when moving from employment to full-time freelancing  **Ideal Candidate**  You should have firsthand experience finding software development work on Upwork, preferably in full-stack development, SaaS, dashboards, admin systems, or MVP projects.  Bonus points if: You’re relatively new to Upwork and have already landed at least one job.  **Please Include in Your Proposal**  - A brief overview of your Upwork experience - The types of development projects you typically work on - Your current or previous Upwork status, such as Rising Talent, Top Rated, or Top Rated Plus - When did you join Upwork, and approximately how many proposals did you submit before landing your first job? **Any anonymized screenshots or supporting data you are comfortable sharing, such as approximate proposal statistics or job application data.**  I am looking for practical, honest, and data-based guidance. This is a one-time paid consultation rather than a development project.
