Manage Finances: Your Centralized Tax Experience

Part of being a global marketplace involves navigating compliance requirements and providing you with the tax forms you need to report your freelancing income. We want to make working with clients and filing taxes as easy as possible for you.

Based on feedback from freelancers who had difficulty locating their tax forms and accessing their tax information, we’ve added Manage finances to the menu to simplify the experience.

Manage finances

You can now locate your tax forms and information under Manage finances, which is available on the web or mobile app menu after logging in to your account.

Under this tab, you can view your financial information, like reports and earnings, withdraw earnings, and quickly access your tax forms and information.

Tax forms

When it comes time to report the income you’ve earned as a freelancer on Upwork and file taxes in the country you live in, you’ll need to access your tax forms. These forms are now easier to find using the Manage finances drop-down menu, which has a dedicated Tax forms page.

Tax information

While Upwork can’t provide you with legal or tax advice, we can do our best to make the information and forms you need easy to find. On the Tax information page, you’ll be able to confirm whether you’re a U.S. or non-U.S. taxpayer. This will determine which forms you receive and whether Upwork needs to collect taxes from your earnings for country-specific compliance.
