My name is Phillip, and I am a British aerospace engineer specializing in manufacturing and product design. I am also Head Writer at a popular additive manufacturing website.
I currently run my own manufacturing lab with several industrial 3D printers including large-format SLA printers, a variety of large FDM machines, and some laser cutters. We also have 3D scanners for reverse engineering.
We use a variety of commodity and engineering-grade plastics for manufacturing, and we also do sandblasting and a variety of coatings including acrylics, ceramics, and Teflon.
I cover all phases of the product lifecycle from conceptual design, to prototyping, to full-scale production. I have an extensive network of manufacturing partners, and so I can not only provide design and prototype work, I can send the design to my partners for any other work (such as sheet metal, CNC milling, and CNC wire bending).
My engineering skills include product design, CAD, DfM, DfA (Boothroyd Dewhurst method), manufacturing engineering, aerospace design, and product design. I am also skilled in the Material Selection process (Granta).
With this skillset as both a designer and manufacturing designer, I can bring your designs from dream to reality much more efficiently than if you hired two engineers for separate tasks.
