Webflow Developer needed to Finalize a website
This was one of the worst freelance experiences I’ve had. The project dragged on for weeks due to repeated mistakes, lack of attention to detail, and extremely slow progress. Basic tasks like responsiveness, alignment, and image ratios had to be explained multiple times (in some cases 4–6 times), yet the same issues kept reappearing as if they were never properly checked.
After reviewing the full project—including my original brief, the chat history, and the freelancer’s hour log—I found a clear mismatch between what was requested and what was billed. The same categories of work (mobile responsiveness, image sizing, alignment) were logged repeatedly across multiple days, despite not being resolved. This indicates that a significant portion of the billed time was spent redoing the same tasks rather than making real progress.
There was no proper QA process. Work was often marked as “done” when it clearly wasn’t, forcing me to spend hours reviewing, documenting, and re-explaining the same issues. This completely defeated the purpose of hiring a freelancer and caused significant delays to my project launch.
Communication was reactive rather than proactive. I had to repeatedly ask for updates and request an hour breakdown multiple times before receiving it. Even then, the log contained vague entries such as “checked pages” or “fixed mobile,” without clear linkage to actual deliverables.
When attempting to resolve the issue, the freelancer resisted refunding unjustified hours and tried to condition a refund on closing the contract first, which is not acceptable.
Overall, this was a case of poor execution, repeated rework, and inflated time tracking. I would strongly caution against hiring unless you are prepared to closely manage every detail.
