Milestone: Initial Security & Roles Analysis (Backend)
The task was relatively small and clearly defined. Before development began, I paid separately for an analysis phase. Repository access, documentation, screenshots, videos, testing access, and a detailed problem description were all provided. A significant portion of the root cause had already been identified and documented before implementation started.
Despite this preparation, the task required substantially more communication, clarification, corrections, and follow-up than expected. Important questions and feedback often required repeated follow-up, and response times were frequently slower than expected, resulting in unnecessary delays.
The task was ultimately completed and is functioning correctly. However, the amount of supervision, management, review, and coordination required for a task of this scope was significantly higher than expected.
For established projects with documented standards, existing workflows, and clear requirements, I expect more initiative in analysis, testing, communication, and adherence to project guidelines.
While the final result works, the overall collaboration experience did not meet my expectations in terms of responsiveness, efficiency, and reliability. For projects that require close collaboration, fast communication, strong attention to detail, and minimal supervision, I would personally not hire this freelancer again.
