Freelance Operations and Project Manager
The freelancer began the assignment with a proactive and positive attitude, which initially seemed promising. However, as projects were assigned, there was a noticeable shift in her engagement and mood. Despite daily meetings and consistent check-ins to ensure she understood the work and had the opportunity to address any concerns, she consistently reported that she was fine and expressed no issues with the workload.
After missing two key assignments, she was asked to provide accountability by reporting when she would be working on each project and tracking her time. This request for accountability led her to abruptly terminate the contract, citing that she could not work under what she perceived as micromanagement.
Her performance indicated that she lacks the organization and attention to detail required for managing high-level, complex projects. While she demonstrated the ability to handle small tasks with multiple steps, her skills are better suited to administrative roles rather than project management.
This experience highlights her limitations in managing complex deliverables and maintaining consistent accountability in a structured work environment.
