What we don't have is a digital presence that reflects any of it. When people search for what we do — on Google, and increasingly through AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews — we're not showing up the way we should. We want a specialist who understands why that happens and, more importantly, has the technical skill to fix it directly. This is a hands-on technical role first, strategy assistance is highly sought. We are not looking for someone who delivers a slide deck and subcontracts the real work. We want an engineer-minded specialist who can get under the hood of our site: write and deploy schema markup, structure our data so AI systems can read and cite it, clean up technical SEO issues, and build the machine-readable foundation that makes a legal brand quotable by answer engines. Strategy matters — but only paired with someone who can actually execute it. TECHNICAL WORK YOU'LL OWN (HANDS-ON) Structured data & JSON-LD schema markup — implemented properly, including the schema types relevant to legal practices (Organization, LegalService, Attorney, Person, FAQ, Article, Review, etc.) Technical SEO: crawlability, site architecture, indexation, page structure, Core Web Vitals, on-page optimization Entity and knowledge-graph optimization — so search engines and AI systems clearly understand who we are, our attorneys, our practice areas, and what we're authoritative on Making our content genuinely machine-readable and citable by AI answer engines Implementing the technical E-E-A-T signals that make AI tools trust and cite a source Local search / Google Business Profile technical optimization Setting up measurement and tracking for visibility across both traditional search and AI answer engines MUST-HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS Deep, hands-on technical AEO/ SEO expertise Proven experience writing and deploying structured data / JSON-LD schema markup (be ready to show examples) Strong command of site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and technical audits Entity AEO/SEO / knowledge-graph optimization experience Real, demonstrated understanding of AI answer-engine visibility — how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and similar tools select, trust, and cite sources Ability to measure AI-driven visibility technically, not just guess at it Comfortable working directly with a website's code / CMS and implementing changes Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to a non-technical decision-maker
