Accounting & Operations Analyst

About the role We are a wholesale company looking for a detail-oriented analyst with a direct accounting background to support ongoing operational and financial accuracy tasks on a part-time or full-time, ongoing long-term basis. This role requires someone who can work independently from day one. You will receive clear inputs and standards, but you are expected to execute without supervision, flag issues proactively, and never guess when information is missing. What you will work on • Product replenishment: reviewing inventory levels against sales velocity and supplier lead times to suggest reorder quantity • Supplier and route coordination: communicating with suppliers and supporting product pickup route logistics • Pricing management: maintaining and updating pricing data across SKUs, flagging cost changes and margin impacts • Invoice reconciliation: cross-checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and receipts, flagging discrepancies • Supplier reporting: preparing structured reports on supplier performance, order history, and related data • Product expiration date and markdown analysis: tracking BBD (Best Before Date) across active inventory and flagging products that require markdown or clearance action • Product data management: maintaining accurate product records including specs, costs, weights, and attributes Requirements • Demonstrated accounting experience -- a degree or verifiable work history in accounting is required • Advanced Excel skills are mandatory -- you must be able to demonstrate this; candidates without strong Excel proficiency will not be considered • Exceptionally high attention to detail -- this role handles financial and inventory data where errors have real operational and cost consequences • Able to work independently, flag issues proactively, and ask clarifying questions rather than guess or skip • Strong written and verbal communication skills -- able to correspond clearly with suppliers and internal team members • Must be available to work 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time • Reliable and consistent availability on an ongoing basis What we are NOT looking for • Generalist virtual assistants • Candidates without verifiable accounting or finance background • Anyone who cannot demonstrate advanced Excel skills • Anyone who needs significant onboarding or ongoing direction to complete routine analytical tasks • Sloppy work of any kind is disqualifying Engagement Part-time or full-time, ongoing.
