Alibaba Cloud DevOps Engineer

We will run a a large scale Virtual platform Event (Next.js web app, 3D virtual environment, video calls, AI CV parsing) that was successfully deployed on Alibaba Cloud for its first edition. The second edition runs in September 2026, and we need an experienced Alibaba Cloud DevOps engineer to redeploy the full infrastructure from scratch and support us through the live event. Full documentation from the first deployment is available (architecture diagrams, deployment scripts, nginx configs, CI/CD workflows, server spec lists, and step-by-step guides). You will also deploy one new component that wasn't in the first edition: a self-hosted AI engine (Docker) for CV parsing. Scope of work - Provision the Alibaba Cloud infrastructure (me-central-1 / Saudi Arabia region): ECS instances (Ubuntu) for Nginx reverse proxy, Jitsi video server, 3D environment server, and deployment/CI-CD server ECI (Elastic Container Instance) container groups for the Stage (public site) and Control (admin/backend API) apps — two replicas each for high availability Application Load Balancers with auto-scaling ApsaraDB for MongoDB (serverless cluster) OSS (Object Storage) for 3D assets Alibaba Container Registry (VPC endpoint) VPC design, Security Groups, IP whitelisting (Cloudflare-only ingress), firewall rules — all following secure best practices - Deploy the AI engine (new): stand up the Docker container, integrate it with the backend API, secure it inside the VPC. - CI/CD: restore the GitHub Actions pipelines (self-hosted runner) and the rolling-update deployment scripts (versioned Docker builds → ACR sequential ECI updates with health checks, zero downtime). - Networking/DNS: configure Cloudflare (proxied, SSL Full Strict) and the Nginx URL structure (single domain with /backend, /3d/... paths). - Cost control: provide a cost estimate before provisioning, keep spend within an agreed budget, flag risks early (disk usage growth, egress, scaling costs). - Scalability & event readiness: load-ready configuration for thousands of concurrent users; auto-scaling verified before the event. - Live event support (September): on-call availability during the 2-day event plus the days before/after for monitoring, incident response, and hotfixes.
