AI Art Director and Visual Lead (Conventional Craft and Generative AI)
Worldwide
About us We are a premium creative studio that builds video and visual content instead of filming it. Launch films, ads, brand pieces, explainers, and product content, made with a modern stack: editing, motion, design, 3D, and generative AI, directed by taste rather than left to the tools. We work with founders, marketing leads, and creative teams who need high-end results without a film crew. Who we are looking for An art director with classical craft who can steer AI generation instead of being steered by it. You have a trained eye: color, composition, and type are second nature. You can sketch an idea as an input, block a rough 3D scene to control camera and layout, and retouch the artifacts out of an AI image so the result is clean, not obviously generated. Most importantly, you hold one cohesive look across a whole project so fonts, motion, color, and grade all belong to the same hand. This role leans art and design. You set and protect the visual bar across pieces, develop the look, and make sure everything ships cohesive and finished. You are the reason a batch of AI-assisted work reads as authored and premium rather than assembled. What you would do - Develop and own the visual direction for a piece or a campaign: look, palette, type, composition. - Steer the generative stack with real inputs: sketches, references, 3D blockouts, color and composition direction. - Retouch and finish AI output so it is clean and artifact-free. - Enforce cohesion across a batch so type, motion, color, and grade stay consistent. - Set the bar the rest of the team executes against. Must-haves: - Conventional art fundamentals: color, composition, typography, and a strong aesthetic ceiling. - Art direction: you can hold a coherent visual system across multiple pieces. - Sketch-to-input and reference-driven direction of AI image tools. - Retouching and cleanup of AI artifacts to a clean finish. - Fluency with current AI image generation tools. - Strong written and spoken English. Nice-to-haves: - 3D, even rough blockouts used for control. - Motion design, compositing, color grading. - Concept art, illustration, or brand identity background. - Experience art-directing real ads or brand work. How to apply: Start your proposal by naming the discipline your eye is strongest in (color, composition, type, retouching, or overall direction) and why. Then send: 1 - One project where the type, color, motion, and grade all clearly belong to the same hand. 1 - A sketch-to-final or input-to-output example that shows how you direct the look, not just generate it. 1 - A before-and-after of AI-artifact cleanup or retouching. Shortlisted applicants do one short paid test brief. One finished, cohesive piece tells us more than any portfolio. Engagement and rate Remote. We start part-time or per-project so we can both test the fit, then scale to a full-time engagement around $2,000 to $3,000 per month for the right person. Long-term fit is the goal.
