Audio Recording – English, French, German, Russian, Spanish (Spain), Valencian, Galician
Worldwide
Summary We are looking for native or near-native (C2 level) speakers of the following languages to record natural two-speaker conversations using Zoom. You will act as both a speaker and the host/recorder of the sessions, and you must bring a second native/near-native speaker of the same language to participate with you in each recording: English (en-US) German (de-DE) French (fr-FR) Russian (ru-RU) Spanish (es-ES) Valencian (ca-ES-valencia) Galician (gl-ES) Important: You are responsible for finding and arranging your own second speaker (friend, family member, colleague, etc.) for each session. We will not provide a recording partner. Please do not apply if you are not able to involve a second speaker of the same language. Requirements Native or near-native proficiency (C2) in at least one of the listed languages (please specify the regional variant where applicable) You must provide your own second native/near-native speaker of the same language to participate in each recording (we do not provide a partner) — this can be a friend, family member, colleague, etc. A Zoom account with local recording capability (free tier is acceptable) Quiet recording environment and a good-quality external or headset microphone (built-in laptop mics generally not sufficient) Stable internet connection Basic comfort configuring Zoom settings and managing recording files Prior experience in audio data collection, voice acting, or linguistic recordings is a plus Task Description Each session has two parts: Recording: host a Zoom call with your second speaker, configure Zoom to save a separate audio file per participant, and conduct a natural conversation in the target language. Detailed step-by-step recording instructions will be provided after contract signing. Transcript review: upload the recordings to our annotation portal. We will provide a transcript of the recording. You will review the transcript against your audio and correct any misalignments so it accurately reflects what was said. Note: All conversations must be in the target language only. Switching to another language is not permitted unless specifically requested. Compensation Payment will be based on a hybrid approach: Number of completed recordings + Total recorded duration (minutes) + Transcript correction work Rates will be aligned with the provided hourly rate (details will be finalized before contract start) Selection Process Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a paid calibration task consisting of one test recording plus a transcript review of that recording, to verify audio quality, separation of speaker tracks, and review accuracy. Candidates who meet the quality threshold will be invited to join the project. Project Duration and Intensity Estimated: 1–3 months Possibility of extension depending on performance and project needs
