Australian Medical Doctor – Health & Wellness Content Writer (AHPRA-Compliant)

We're looking for a registered medical doctor based in Australia to write consumer-facing health and wellness content for a preventative health and diagnostics platform. This is an ongoing content role, not a clinical position; you won't be treating patients, but your medical training and understanding of Australian health advertising rules are central to the job. What you'll do: - Write clear, engaging articles on topics like biomarkers, metabolic health, nutrition, sleep, and general preventative health - Translate clinical and research concepts into content that's accurate but accessible to a general audience - Cite peer-reviewed sources and reputable health bodies (e.g. NHMRC, RACGP, Healthdirect) for every factual claim - Ensure content is medically accurate, avoids diagnostic or therapeutic claims not appropriate for general consumer content, and reflects current evidence - Collaborate with our editorial/compliance team to revise drafts against internal style and regulatory checklists What we're looking for: - Current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner in Australia (please include your registration details) - Strong understanding of AHPRA's Guidelines for Advertising a Regulated Health Service and general awareness of Australian Consumer Law as it applies to health content - Excellent written English, Australian spelling and style - Prior experience writing for a general (non-clinical) audience - health journalism, patient education materials, blog content, or similar - Comfortable working from a brief, incorporating feedback, and meeting deadlines - Bonus: experience with preventative health, longevity, metabolic health, or diagnostic testing topics To apply, please include: - Your AHPRA registration number and specialty (if any) - 2–3 writing samples (health-related preferred) - Your availability and preferred rate (per word, per article, or hourly)
