AI Automation Specialist & Technical Assistant

We are looking for a highly capable **AI Automation Specialist and Technical Assistant** to work closely with our operations team. This is not a basic virtual assistant position, and we are not looking for someone who only knows how to use ChatGPT. We need a resourceful, technically minded person who can understand business problems, research possible solutions, build AI-powered systems, create automations, connect different platforms, and improve our internal workflows. The ideal person is a combination of: - AI systems builder - Automation specialist - Technical researcher - Operations problem-solver - Reliable executive or technical assistant You will initially work alongside an existing team member who currently handles AI projects, automation, technical research, system setup, and process improvement. Our goal is to find someone who can eventually take ownership of similar projects independently. What You’ll Work On Projects may include: - Building AI agents and internal assistants - Creating automated workflows using n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar platforms - Connecting CRMs, forms, email, Google Workspace, APIs, and other business tools - Building document-generation and document-review systems - Automating lead management and follow-up processes - Setting up AI-powered research and data-processing workflows - Creating systems that collect information from users and produce structured outputs - Working with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and other AI platforms - Testing new AI tools and recommending the best solution for a specific business problem - Troubleshooting existing automations and integrations - Writing clear documentation so other team members can use and maintain the systems - Supporting occasional technical, operational, and research assignments Some projects may involve real estate, construction, septic-system services, CRM workflows, legal or business documents, marketing operations, and internal company processes. What We Are Looking For You should be someone who: - Can take a business problem and turn it into a practical technical solution - Has real experience building automations, not just watching tutorials - Understands APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, and data mapping - Is comfortable using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools - Can work with both no-code tools and custom code when necessary - Can research unfamiliar systems and learn quickly - Tests work carefully before considering a project complete - Communicates clearly and provides regular progress updates - Notices missing details, risks, and possible improvements - Can work independently without requiring step-by-step instructions for every task - Is honest when something is uncertain or technically impossible - Is organized and dependable Preferred Technical Experience Experience with several of the following is strongly preferred: - n8n - Make - Paperclip - OpenAI API - Anthropic Claude - Google Gemini - AI agents and multi-agent workflows - REST APIs and webhooks - JavaScript or Python - Google Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Gmail automation - CRM integrations - GoHighLevel - Airtable - Supabase or other databases - GitHub - Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor - PDF and document automation - OCR and structured data extraction - Prompt design and evaluation - Basic cloud deployment or VPS management You do not need to know every tool listed above. Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to learn new platforms are more important than knowing one specific software package. When assigned a project, you should be able to: 1. Understand the desired business outcome 2. Ask only the questions that are genuinely necessary 3. Research the available options 4. Recommend an appropriate solution 5. Build a working version 6. Test it carefully 7. Document how it works 8. Suggest improvements when appropriate This can develop into a long-term position for the right person.
