AI Automation Specialist — Voice & WhatsApp AI Agents

ABOUT BLACKCAT MARKETING BlackCat Marketing is a fully AI-driven digital marketing agency. We help small and medium businesses get found, get traffic and now, get every lead answered. We are launching a new AI-powered virtual receptionist service under the BlackCat brand: phone answering, WhatsApp answering and appointment scheduling, all handled by AI agents. THE ROLE We need a hands-on AI automation specialist to build, configure and maintain AI voice and WhatsApp agents for our SME clients. This is not a call center job and not general virtual assistant work. You will be the person who builds the AI that does the answering, using existing voice AI and WhatsApp platforms rather than custom development from scratch. WHAT YOU WILL DO -Build and configure AI voice agents (Vapi, Retell AI, Bland AI or similar) for inbound call answering -Build WhatsApp Business API bot flows for FAQ answering and lead capture -Integrate calendar systems (Google Calendar, Calendly) for appointment booking -Write and refine conversation scripts and prompts so agents sound natural and on brand -Test each client's agent thoroughly before go-live -Monitor live agents, review call and chat transcripts and optimize monthly -Handle technical setup for new clients: WhatsApp Business verification, number provisioning, calendar connections -Document each client's configuration clearly for internal QA and handoff WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU -Hands-on experience with at least one voice AI platform: Vapi, Retell AI, Bland AI, Synthflow or similar -Experience with WhatsApp Business API / Cloud API through a BSP such as Twilio, 360dialog, Wati or Gupshup -Comfortable with calendar API integrations (Google Calendar, Calendly) -Familiarity with Make.com or Zapier for connecting workflows -Strong written English for building conversation scripts and client-facing prompts -Comfortable with structured SOP-based workflows and Trello WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT -Not a call center agent or human answering service -Not a general virtual assistant or admin work -Not custom voice AI pipeline development from scratch; we build on existing platforms TEST TASK Using a sample business scenario we provide, build a short demo voice agent flow (Vapi free tier or similar) and a matching WhatsApp bot flow for the same business. We evaluate whether the agent sounds natural, captures the right information and hands off cleanly when it cannot answer something. RATE $15 to $25/hr, or per-client rates negotiable: roughly $200 to $275 per new client setup, plus $25 to $40/month per client for ongoing maintenance. CONTRACT TYPE: Part-time, ongoing. Fixed-price per deliverable preferred over hourly. HOURS: Variable, scales with the number of active clients.
