Azure → AWS Migration Specialist (HIPAA-Compliant Healthcare Environment)

We're a healthcare SaaS company looking for an experienced cloud engineer to migrate our production infrastructure from Microsoft Azure to AWS. Because we handle Protected Health Information (PHI), this migration must be executed with strict attention to HIPAA compliance at every stage — during transit, at rest, and in the resulting AWS architecture. This is a time-sensitive engagement. We're looking for someone who can move quickly without cutting corners on security or compliance. Scope of Work Audit our current Azure environment (compute, storage, networking, databases, identity) Design an equivalent (or improved) AWS target architecture Plan and execute the migration with minimal downtime and a clear rollback strategy Migrate workloads, data stores, and supporting services to AWS Configure networking, security groups, IAM, and access controls following least-privilege principles Validate functionality, performance, and data integrity post-migration Document the new architecture and any operational runbooks HIPAA / Security Requirements Ensure all PHI is encrypted in transit and at rest throughout the migration Architect within AWS HIPAA-eligible services and ensure a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with AWS is in place and respected Implement audit logging, monitoring, and access controls aligned with HIPAA Security Rule requirements No PHI may be exposed in logs, temporary storage, or non-compliant intermediate systems during transfer Follow security best practices for IAM, key management (KMS), and network isolation (VPC, private subnets) Required Experience Proven track record migrating production workloads from Azure to AWS Hands-on experience with HIPAA-compliant AWS architectures in healthcare or similarly regulated environments Strong knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch/CloudTrail) Experience designing zero/low-downtime migrations with rollback plans Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform or CloudFormation) preferred Timeline We need this completed promptly — please include your earliest availability and a realistic estimated timeline in your proposal.
