B2B Prospect Research & Campaign Operations Specialist
Worldwide
I am looking for a meticulous B2B Prospect Research & Campaign Operations Specialist to help execute the research and production side of a highly personalized prospecting system. This is not a generic data-entry assignment, a bulk list-scraping project, or a mass cold-email role. The work requires careful judgment, current source verification, and an ability to distinguish a genuinely qualified target from a company that merely appears to fit at first glance. My Cold 2 Warm Prospecting System helps B2B companies identify their most desirable prospects, verify the correct decision-makers, develop relevant messaging, and coordinate personalized direct mail, email, LinkedIn, and follow-up campaigns. The quality of the account and contact research is foundational to the entire process. The engagement will begin with a paid 8–12 hour pilot. The initial assignment will be to research approximately 25 target accounts and identify two relevant, verified decision-makers at each account. If the work is accurate, well documented, and delivered reliably, this can become an ongoing contractor relationship with reserved weekly capacity. WHAT YOU WILL DO You will convert an approved Ideal Client Profile into a clean, campaign-ready, and auditable prospect list. Your responsibilities will include: • Researching companies against positive and negative Ideal Client Profile criteria. • Confirming that each company operates in the required industry, geography, size range, and business model. • Distinguishing a corporate headquarters, branch office, warehouse, plant, hospital, facility, or other operating location when location-level accuracy matters. • Identifying the appropriate buyer roles and current decision-makers at each approved account. • Verifying names, titles, company affiliation, business email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, and LinkedIn profiles. • Recording the source and verification date for important facts rather than presenting unsupported assumptions as facts. • Flagging ambiguous records, conflicts, recent job changes, weak-fit accounts, and information that cannot be verified. • Removing duplicates, competitors, existing clients, disqualified accounts, and other exclusions. • Scoring or tiering accounts according to supplied rules. • Preparing accurate personalization fields, mail-merge files, CRM imports, direct-mail vendor files, and launch checklists. • Performing a final quality-control review before submitting the work. TYPICAL FIELDS IN THE FINAL DELIVERABLE Depending on the campaign, the spreadsheet may include: • Company name and website. • Parent company, subsidiary, or relevant business unit. • Headquarters and relevant operating-facility address. • Industry, location, size, and other qualification evidence. • Reason the account fits the Ideal Client Profile. • Account tier or score. • Contact name, current title, and buyer-role category. • LinkedIn profile URL. • Verified business email and verification status. • Business phone number, when available. • Mailing address and relevant facility. • Source URLs and date checked. • Exclusion, uncertainty, or research notes. DEFINITION OF HIGH-QUALITY WORK Successful work is not measured by the largest number of rows. It is measured by whether the research can be trusted and used without extensive rework. The standard is: • Every account satisfies the stated qualification criteria or is clearly flagged for review. • Decision-makers are current and aligned with the supplied buyer-role logic. • Important facts include traceable source evidence. • No guessed information is represented as verified. • Duplicates and obvious exclusions are removed. • Formatting is consistent and campaign-ready. • At least 90% of submitted records are accepted without correction during the pilot. • Questions and uncertainty are raised early rather than hidden. THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU • Have demonstrated experience with B2B company and executive research. • Know how to verify information across multiple public and commercial sources. • Can distinguish a headquarters from the operating location relevant to a campaign. • Understand that a plausible job title is not automatically the correct decision-maker. • Are highly capable in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. • Have experience preparing data for CRM, mail merge, direct mail, or personalized outbound campaigns. • Communicate clearly in written English. • Work independently while documenting your reasoning and asking focused questions. • Care more about accuracy and evidence than producing a superficially large list. Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Data Axle, company websites, state or industry databases, email-verification tools, and common CRMs is useful. You do not need to use every tool listed, and I am open to a strong research methodology using other credible sources. THIS ROLE IS NOT A FIT IF YOU • Primarily sell bulk scraped lists. • Submit unverified contact data without sources or notes. • Depend on a single database as the final authority. • Treat every company with the right industry label as qualified. • Use guessed email addresses without clearly labeling their status. • Prefer speed and row count over accuracy and judgment. • Need detailed supervision for every research decision. INITIAL PAID PILOT The first assignment will require you to: 1. Review a supplied Ideal Client Profile, buyer-role map, exclusions, and spreadsheet template. 2. Research approximately 25 target accounts. 3. Identify two qualified decision-makers per approved account. 4. Verify and document the required account and contact fields. 5. Flag uncertainty, conflicts, and disqualifying evidence. 6. Submit the completed spreadsheet with a short summary of your methodology, open questions, and quality-control checks. The expected pilot effort is approximately 8–12 paid hours. Please bid your normal hourly rate. I am prioritizing sound judgment, accuracy, communication, and reliability rather than the lowest rate. After a successful pilot, the work may expand to approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on client demand and performance. The engagement will initially be structured as a contractor relationship rather than a full-time position. HOW TO APPLY Please begin your proposal with the words “Evidence First” so I know you reviewed the full description. Then answer the following questions: 1. Describe your process for deciding whether a company truly fits an Ideal Client Profile rather than merely matching an industry label. 2. How do you distinguish a headquarters address from the operating facility relevant to a campaign? 3. How do you verify that a decision-maker still works at a company and currently holds the listed role? 4. Which sources and tools do you normally use for account research, contact research, email verification, and quality control? 5. Give an example of a plausible-looking record you rejected or flagged during a previous research project. What did you find? 6. How do you communicate information that cannot be conclusively verified? 7. How many hours per week can you reliably reserve for this engagement? 8. Please attach or describe a relevant, sanitized work sample that demonstrates your research organization and source documentation. Do not share confidential client information.
