BigCommerce Developer Needed for Custom Property Cleanup and Default Variant Image Update

We are looking for an experienced BigCommerce developer to make two updates to our ecommerce website. Scope of Work 1. Review and remove the “Listing_SKU” custom property Our website currently uses a custom property called “Listing_SKU.” This property appears to have associated functionality, so it should not be removed until its purpose and dependencies have been fully reviewed. The developer will need to: • Identify where the Listing_SKU property is stored and referenced. • Review any theme code, scripts, integrations, APIs, or backend processes that rely on it. • Determine whether the associated functionality is still required. • Remove the property from the storefront and all customer-facing product pages. • If the functionality is still required, retain or move the necessary data to an appropriate backend field, such as a metafield, without displaying it on the storefront. • If the functionality is no longer required, remove the property and any related code entirely. • Recommend a replacement approach if the current implementation should not be retained. The change must not disrupt product data, integrations, product listings, or other website functionality. 2. Set the white variant image as the default image for label products All applicable label products have a queue number or identifier beginning with “LC-.” For every qualifying product, we need the image associated with the white variant to appear as the default or primary product image. The developer will need to: • Identify all products associated with an LC- identifier. • Confirm how the white variant and its image are currently configured. • Set the white variant image as the default or primary image for each applicable product. • Ensure the white image appears correctly on product pages, category pages, search results, and other relevant storefront sections. • Apply the update in a scalable manner, using the BigCommerce API or another bulk-update method where appropriate, rather than manually editing every product. • Confirm that selecting other product variants continues to update the displayed image correctly. Requirements • Strong experience with BigCommerce. • Experience working with custom product fields, metafields, variants, and product images. • Experience reviewing and modifying BigCommerce theme code. • Ability to identify dependencies before removing custom functionality. • Familiarity with the BigCommerce API. • Ability to test changes safely without negatively affecting the live storefront. • Clear communication and documentation of all changes made. Deliverables • Analysis of the existing Listing_SKU property, its purpose, and its dependencies. • Removal or replacement of the customer-facing Listing_SKU property. • Preservation or migration of any required backend functionality. • White variant images set as the default images for all applicable LC- label products. • Confirmation that variant image switching continues to function correctly. • Testing across desktop and mobile. • Brief documentation describing the files, settings, scripts, API processes, or product data that were changed.
