Bilingual Client Services Coordinator (English/Mandarin)
Worldwide
We're looking for a sharp, dependable bilingual coordinator in Taiwan to be our clients' point of contact during Asia afternoon/evening hours. You'll cover European client hours and hold the fort for North America while our Vancouver side is offline — working closely with our Vancouver-based team lead and our sourcing partners across China and the wider Asia region. This starts as a light part-time seat, but it's built to grow: as you earn trust, both your responsibilities and your hours expand. About us We are a boutique sourcing firm connecting clients to opportunities across Asia. We support businesses in the EU and US end-to-end — from supplier sourcing and negotiation through logistics — acting as their trusted bridge to manufacturing partners in China and the wider region. We're a small, hands-on team that works in a modern, AI-forward way: research, reporting, and analysis are all accelerated with AI tools. About the role You'll cover our Vancouver-side downtime, 15:00–21:00 Taiwan time, as the first responder for client emails and Slack messages, and the relay between English-speaking clients and our Chinese-speaking sourcing team. The path is deliberately progressive: you start by shadowing our workflows, grow into reliable backup coverage for the wider team, and — as your hours scale up — take ownership of a client account of your own. You won't be thrown in at the deep end — we provide comprehensive training and hands-on onboarding, so you'll always know what's expected. The right person won't stay at 1 hour a day for long. What you'll do • Monitor client email and Slack during your window and respond professionally within ~3 hours during your check-in times • Act as point of contact between EU/US clients (in English) and our sourcing team in China/Asia (in Chinese) • Relay requests, updates, and quotations accurately between both sides, keeping tone and detail appropriate for each audience • Use AI tools to speed up research, draft reports, and prepare analysis for clients and the team • Keep conversation records and handoff notes tidy so the Vancouver side can pick up seamlessly each morning • Grow with us: shadow first, back up the team next, then take ownership of a client account as your hours increase What we're looking for Required • Based in Taiwan, able to check in a few times across the 15:00–21:00 window on weekdays • Highly proficient written English — all primary client communication is in English • Fluent Mandarin for internal communication with the sourcing team (Simplified or Traditional both fine) • Professional, client-ready communication style and sound judgment on when to escalate • Accustomed to, or genuinely willing to learn, using AI tools (e.g. Claude) to work faster and better • Consistent, responsive, and comfortable being trusted with client-facing conversations • Keen to grow into a larger role over time — this seat rewards people who want to take on more Preferred (nice to have) • Experience in customer service, account management, or client success • Familiarity with sourcing, cross-border trade, e-commerce, or logistics • Experience working with EU/US clients across time zones • Comfortable with Slack and shared workspaces such as Notion Training and support No prior sourcing background required — we provide comprehensive training and hands-on onboarding, and you'll have direct support from the team throughout. We invest in people who want to grow with us. Hours and engagement Starts light — about 1 hour of active work per day, handled as a few quick check-ins across the 15:00–21:00 Taiwan window rather than a fixed shift. This is monitoring, not standby: you dip in, clear what's come through, and move on. Starting rate is USD 8–10/hr depending on experience, and as you take on backup coverage and then your own client account, your hours and pay grow with the responsibility. Hourly contract via Upwork, with a paid trial/shadowing period to start. This is a long-term seat with real room to grow — not a one-off gig.
