Billing Specialist for PT/OT

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist with a strong background in Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) revenue cycle management. This is a remote role, and we are looking for someone who is highly trustworthy, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with claim scrubbing, claim submission, denial management, payment posting, and a solid understanding of Insurance Verification Services (IVS) and authorization workflows specific to PT/OT clinics.

• Perform claim scrubbing to ensure clean, compliant claims prior to submission
• Submit claims electronically and via payer portals in a timely manner
• Manage claim denials, including research, corrections, appeals, and follow-ups
• Handle payment posting, including ERA/EOB review and reconciliation
• Verify insurance benefits through IVS, ensuring accuracy of coverage, copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements
• Identify root causes of denials and recommend process improvements
• Maintain accurate documentation and notes within the billing system
• Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding claim status, auth issues, and payer responses
• Ensure compliance with payer rules, PT/OT billing guidelines, and timelines
