Property Management Bookkeeper Position Summary We are a fast-growing property management and real estate investment company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in property accounting, be proficient in QuickBooks, AppFolio, and Monday.com, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax preparation, preparing owner reports, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple properties and entities. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties and business entities. Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank activity. Ensure expenses are properly allocated to the correct properties and entities. Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts on a monthly basis. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Property Management Accounting Utilize AppFolio to manage property accounting functions, including rent collections, owner distributions, security deposits, and vendor payments. Review tenant ledgers and ensure accuracy of tenant balances. Process owner draws and distributions as approved. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly financial statements, including: Balance Sheets Profit & Loss Statements Cash Flow Reports Budget vs. Actual Reports Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly owner reports. Assist management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests. Tax & Compliance Support Prepare and organize financial records for annual tax preparation. Coordinate with external CPAs and provide requested schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with year-end 1099 preparation and vendor compliance. Maintain organized electronic financial records and documentation. Workflow & Project Management Use Monday.com to track accounting tasks, deadlines, and project status. Ensure all recurring accounting tasks are completed on schedule. Collaborate with property managers, ownership, and external vendors to resolve accounting issues. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop. Experience using AppFolio property management software. Experience using Monday.com or similar project management software. Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting. Experience supporting year-end tax preparation. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple entities simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with multiple LLCs or real estate investment companies. Understanding of owner distributions, property budgets, and escrow accounts. Experience preparing 1099s. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Skills & Competencies High level of integrity and confidentiality. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience. Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (remote or hybrid options available depending on experience).
