Bookkeeper Needed for Accounting Software Migrations (Ongoing) - UK Experience Preferred
Worldwide
About the role I run a UK accounting practice and I'm migrating my existing client base onto a new accounting software platform. I'm looking for a detail-obsessed bookkeeper with strong UK bookkeeping knowledge to help me move clients across cleanly, accurately, and with no loose ends. This starts as a trial to prove the fit. I'm budget-conscious at the outset, but for the right person there's steady, ongoing work and rates that increase as you demonstrate quality and reliability. What you'll be doing - Migrating client data from existing systems into the new software - Setting up and reviewing Charts of Accounts for each client - Handling Opening and Closing Trial Balances accurately - Importing transaction data and verifying it lands correctly - Reconciling bank transactions and resolving discrepancies - Creating and refining bank rules to streamline ongoing processing - Spotting and flagging inconsistencies before they become problems What I'm looking for - Strong, demonstrable understanding of UK bookkeeping - Confident with Charts of Accounts and Trial Balances (Opening and Closing) - A genuine eye for detail - reconciliations that actually reconcile - Comfortable importing data and building bank rules - Excellent written and spoken English and clear communication - Reliable, organised, and able to work methodically through a client list Location is flexible - you can be based anywhere - as long as your UK bookkeeping knowledge is solid and your English is excellent. Nice to have - Prior experience migrating clients between accounting platforms - Experience working with UK accountancy practices or bookkeeping firms - A relevant qualification (AAT, ICB, or similar) - helpful but not essential Engagement - Hourly, ongoing work - Begins with a trial period to establish quality and fit - Rate reviewed and increased as you prove your value - Potential for a long-term working relationship as the migration scales To apply Please tell me briefly: 1. Your experience with UK bookkeeping and any software migrations you've handled 2. How you'd approach setting up a Chart of Accounts and reconciling opening balances for a new client 3. Your available hours per week and your current hourly rate Applications that show attention to detail will stand out - so please read this post carefully before replying.
