Bookkeeper for Small Business

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax preparation, managing billing, tracking income and expenses, and assisting with customer and tenant-related financial matters. We are looking for someone who is organized, professional, responsive, and able to keep financial records current and accurate. This person must be comfortable working in a real estate and property management environment where details matter. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for real estate and property management operations Track rental income, property expenses, vendor invoices, deposits, reimbursements, and owner payments Prepare billing statements, invoices, receipts, and account summaries Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, rent payments, and vendor payments Organize financial documents for tax preparation and year-end reporting Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable Maintain tenant, owner, vendor, and property-related financial records Support property management reporting, including income and expense tracking by property Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, owners, and internal team members Help resolve billing questions, payment issues, account discrepancies, and customer service matters Coordinate with accountants, tax preparers, property managers, and company leadership Maintain organized digital files and proper documentation for audits, taxes, and reporting Required Experience Candidates should have experience with: Bookkeeping for real estate, property management, construction, or small business operations Rent collection tracking, vendor payments, and property-level accounting Tax preparation support and year-end document organization Billing, invoicing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting Customer relations, tenant communications, and vendor follow-up QuickBooks, Excel, Google Workspace, or similar accounting and office tools Qualifications 3+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred Real estate or property management bookkeeping experience strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to keep records organized and current Professional communication skills Comfortable handling confidential financial information Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, and practical. They understand that clean books are the foundation of good business decisions, tax preparation, investor reporting, and property management operations. This person should be comfortable working with tenants, vendors, owners, accountants, and management while keeping financial records organized and up to date. Position Type Part-Time, Full-Time, or Contract depending on experience and availability. Compensation will be based on experience and scope of responsibilities.
