Builder Research Analyst (Real Estate Development Research)

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented researcher to help identify active residential builders and developers throughout Northern California and other target markets. This is NOT a sales role. Your responsibility is to identify active builders, document evidence of current construction activity, research ownership information, and help build a high-quality prospect database for business development purposes. We are looking for someone who can think critically, evaluate information, and explain their conclusions—not simply copy and paste information from Google. Responsibilities • Research active residential builders and developers • Identify current and recently completed projects • Research property ownership and builder entities • Locate company owners and decision makers • Gather contact information • Research permit activity and construction projects • Maintain organized Google Sheets databases • Verify and update existing records • Document research sources and supporting evidence • Prioritize builders based on activity level and likelihood of being a strong prospect Required Skills • Strong internet research skills • Excellent attention to detail • Google Sheets proficiency • Ability to document findings clearly • Strong written English • Ability to work independently • Critical thinking and analytical skills Preferred Experience • Real estate research • Construction industry research • Property ownership research • Skip tracing • Mortgage, title, or real estate investing knowledge • Permit research • Public records research LONG-TERM POSITION The selected researcher will work on an ongoing basis for 5-10 hours per week to start. Potentially longer if your research is excellent. Primary Objective: Build and maintain a database of active residential builders and developers who are likely prospects for construction, bridge, and investor financing. Expected Production: • 25-40 HIGH-QUALITY builders added per week • Research quality is more important than quantity • Every builder must include supporting evidence and rationale Researchers who consistently identify active builders, uncover useful project intelligence, and maintain high-quality data will receive additional responsibilities and increased hours.
