Business Strategy & Launch Partner (Outdoor Recreation Tech Platform Startup)

THE ASK: I'm launching an outdoor recreation platform and need a strategic partner to help me think through the business approach, validate what's actually feasible, and keep me accountable to the execution. I've done a lot of planning, but I want someone to poke holes in it, ask the hard questions, and help me adjust as needed. Think: advisor + accountability partner + someone to help me stay organized and on track. The vision for this project is huge, and as the visionary for it, I can get side tracked and "over whelmed." I'm very dedicated to this project. It's been an idea developing and going through many shapes over the past few years. I need someone who can help me prioritize ruthlessly and know what actually matters vs. what can wait. ABOUT ME: I'm an outdoor guide and experiential educator in Portland, Oregon. I've been working in the outdoor recreation industry for 20 years across multiple activities, different roles, different angles. I've seen this industry from so many perspectives, which is why I'm building this. I'm hardworking, detail-oriented, and deeply passionate about this project's success. I take direction well but will also voice my thoughts if something feels off. I'm a creative problem-solver who believes the outdoors is for everyone. It brings joy, connection, and healing individually and collectively. I'm laid back and down to earth, but also a bit of a silly goose. ABOUT THE PROJECT: A values-aligned directory for outdoor recreation, but really it's about building an ecosystem for three groups: participants (people seeking outdoor experiences), the workforce (guides, instructors, educators), and providers (businesses, organizations, gyms, shops). We're connecting all three around shared values: inclusivity, environmental stewardship, accessibility, collaboration, cooperation, creativity, kindness, education, and integrity. The directory is the vehicle, but the real work is cultivating a network of people doing what I believe most of us hope for the future. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: Someone with business/startup experience who can have real conversations, push back when needed, help me think strategically, and keep a simple project tracker so things don't fall through the cracks.
