CMF Consultant – Color, Material & Finish (Factory Validation, Consumer Electronics)

We're a consumer electronics brand based in India, looking for a CMF (Color, Material & Finish) consultant to guide our product's material and finish decisions and validate them at the factory level. What this role involves: - Advising on color, material, and finish choices for our products — balancing aesthetics, brand feel, durability, and cost - Reviewing material and finish samples against spec before approval - Flagging any gap between the approved CMF direction and what the factory is actually producing - Advising on trade-offs when a finish or material choice creates manufacturing risk (e.g. cost, scratch resistance, color consistency at scale) Ideal candidate: - Industrial design background with strong CMF specialization - Experience validating CMF in-person at factories, ideally in consumer electronics or similar high-volume manufacturing - Familiarity with common finishing processes and their production trade-offs - Fluent in Chinese, able to communicate directly with our suppliers This is an initial engagement to explore fit — if it goes well, we're looking to build an ongoing working relationship for future projects.
