CPG Demand Planner needed for Chain Forecasting

We are a premier CPG operations consulting firm seeking an expert CPG Demand Planner / Forecasting Specialist for a high-impact, hands-on engagement spanning 6 months. The goal is to expand the accuracy and ability of a brand in national chain stores to keep up with growth. You will work directly under our lead operations architect to stabilize rolling sales forecasts, manage inventory compliance, and protect retail relationships. General Work to Be Done: - Manage and stabilize day-to-day rolling sales forecasts for major big-box retail channels. - Analyze retail POS (Point of Sale) data, historical consumption trends, and promotional pipelines to build highly accurate SKU-level demand models. - Align demand projections directly with raw material lead times and co-manufacturing capacity constraints to prevent stockouts or over-production. - Monitor and protect retail inventory compliance metrics (e.g., OTIF / SQEP) to eliminate chargebacks and compliance penalties. Exact Capabilities Needed: - Deep expertise in statistical forecasting, promotional lift modeling, and supply chain inventory mechanics. - Advanced spreadsheet wizardry (Excel modeling) and experience interpreting retailer EDI data streams. - Ability to rapidly absorb a single operator's daily routine and execute with zero hand-holding. Ideal Background: - 5+ years of dedicated demand planning experience explicitly within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, with Food & Beverage strongly preferred. - Proven track record managing strict inventory compliance frameworks for major national retailers. - Experience working within private equity-backed environments is a major plus.
