CRO for ecom / retail (cannabis)
Worldwide
CRO Operator for Ecom + Retail Funnel (Cannabis Dispensary) We’re looking for a hands-on CRO operator to improve conversion across our online ordering + in-store pickup + drive-thru funnel. This is not a generic CRO role. You’ll be working on a real retail system (Dutchie + WordPress + CRM) where conversion = orders placed, pickup completed, and repeat behavior. We care about: Faster decisions Less friction Higher order completion More repeat customers What You’ll Own: 1. Online Conversion (Primary) Improve: Menu → product selection → add to cart → checkout Reduce drop-off in: Product pages Cart → checkout Order completion 2. Decision Simplification (Big Lever) Most customers don’t know what to pick You’ll help design: “If you feel X → buy Y” flows Category guidance (flower, vapes, edibles, etc.) Quick-pick modules (staff-curated) 3. Pickup & Drive-Thru Behavior Improve conversion into: Order ahead (pickup / drive-thru) Reduce: Confusion about process Abandonment due to uncertainty 4. Testing & Iteration Build a prioritized testing roadmap Run experiments on: Messaging Page structure Decision flows Focus on impact, not volume of tests What This Is NOT: Not “UX audit with 50 ideas” Not “change colors and buttons” Not pure analytics with no execution Not agency-style reporting We want someone who finds leverage and ships improvements. Stack You’ll Work With: Dutchie (menu, ordering) - like Shopify but for Cannabis. They have limited native CRO capabilities so this stack requires scrappiness WordPress (Elementor) GA4 / basic analytics Heatmaps / session recordings What We’re Looking For: Experience with ecommerce / retail funnels You have to be fairly technical and be able to set up experiments and add changes to the website yourself (or with your team) Strong intuition for consumer decision-making under uncertainty Ability to simplify choices (not add complexity) We're looking for individual contributor or small boutique agency to work with the founder. We're NOT looking for work with generic marketing agencies or big CRO agencies Bonus if: You’ve worked on retail / food delivery / cannabis / high-SKU catalogs You understand menu psychology (too many options = no decision) Example Problems You’ll Solve: Users open the menu but don’t buy → where are they getting stuck? Too many SKUs → how do we guide decisions without overwhelming? Customers don’t use drive-thru → how do we nudge behavior? To Apply: Please include: 1–2 examples where you improved conversion (what changed + result) How you approach a high-SKU / menu-style funnel What you’d look at first in an online ordering flow
