Certified ED Coder for AI Tool

Summary We're building an AI-assisted medical coding tool focused on the Emergency Department. The coding logic is built. What we need now is a certified coder to verify the clinical rules and create a small answer key. What you would do (hourly, fully remote): 1. Review 25 ED coding rules written in plain English. These cover E and M MDM leveling for codes 99281 to 99285, critical care gates for codes 99291 and 99292, common modifiers, and diagnosis logic. For each rule, confirm it matches the 2023 guidelines or note the correct version. Everything is in a simple spreadsheet. No code and no software to learn. 2. Annotate 8 synthetic ED cases with the correct codes, to serve as our accuracy answer key. Important: All cases are 100 percent synthetic. There is no real patient data involved at any point. You are a great fit if you have: - A CPC certification, and ideally a CEDC or CPMA - Real hands-on ED coding or auditing experience - A solid command of the 2023 E and M MDM changes This is a small, paid, hourly engagement to start, around 5 to 10 hours. If it goes well, there is ongoing work. The review spreadsheet can be shared through Upwork once we connect, so you can see exactly what is involved before committing.
