Children's Book Editor for Final Polish

I’m looking for an experienced children’s book editor to help with the final polish of a completed story for readers ages 6–9 (and their grownups). About the book: It's the story of a young firefly who worries that her glow isn’t bright enough. When she becomes convinced that being admired will make her shine, she works harder and harder to get everyone’s attention—only to discover that her brightest moments come from something much quieter. A warm story about the difference between being admired and being loved, and learning to notice the small moments that make us glow. Current state: the manuscript is already in strong shape, so I’m not looking for a major rewrite. I’d like a thoughtful final editorial pass focused on: Story flow, pacing, and emotional arc Age-appropriate language and clarity Dialogue and character voice Moments that feel confusing, slow, overly explained, or emotionally flat Small line-level improvements where needed Making sure the story’s deeper message lands naturally without becoming preachy I’m especially interested in editors with experience in picture books, early chapter books, or literary children’s fiction who understand how to write for kids while still giving adults something to feel.
