Chinese Commercial Attorney Needed for Deferred Payment Agreement Contract

Summary

We are looking for a Chinese commercial attorney or experienced China-based business/legal professional to assist with an urgent freight forwarder matter. Our company has goods currently at risk due to an outstanding freight forwarder payment. The goods are tied to a related customer receivable, and we need help negotiating a short deferred payment arrangement with the freight forwarder. Specific payment amounts, shipment details, and receivable information can be discussed privately after initial screening. Scope of Work We need the attorney/professional to: - Contact the freight forwarder on our behalf in Chinese. - Explain that the freight balance is acknowledged and will be paid. - Negotiate an agreement that the freight forwarder: - preserves/holds the goods, - does not abandon, dispose of, sell, destroy, or otherwise escalate the shipment, - keeps all rights and reservations intact, - allows continued handling/storage/release under a written agreement. - Document that our company will pay the outstanding freight balance from the first proceeds of the related receivable. - Include a clear payment deadline, either: - within a set number of business days after the receivable is collected, or - no later than a fixed outside date. - Keep the agreement practical, commercial, and non-hostile. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has experience with: - Chinese commercial law - Freight forwarding / logistics disputes - Supplier or vendor payment negotiations - Drafting short bilingual Chinese/English commercial agreements - Communicating professionally with Chinese companies - Urgent business dispute resolution Deliverables - Initial review of the situation and recommended approach - Chinese-language communication to the freight forwarder - Negotiation support - Short written deferred payment agreement / settlement memo - English summary of all communications and final terms Important Notes This is not intended to be an aggressive litigation matter. We are looking for someone who can help create a practical commercial bridge so the freight forwarder is protected and the goods are preserved. The matter is time-sensitive.
