College Admissions Advisor & Coach

Seeking a dedicated advisor to guide an 11th grader in achieving academic excellence and securing scholarships for top U.S. colleges. Responsibilities include creating a personalized plan, providing accountability, and ensuring timely completion of college applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in college admissions and a strong understanding of the U.S. education system. Responsibilities: * Build a 90-day college readiness plan. * Help identify best-fit colleges, including strong engineering/biomedical engineering programs. * Build a balanced college list: reach, target, safety, merit-scholarship schools. * Create a scholarship search and application plan. * Review current academic/extracurricular profile and identify gaps. * Suggest realistic activities/projects he can complete before applications. * Help shape a cohesive application story. * Guide Common App activity list and essay brainstorming. * Track weekly progress using Google Sheets, Notion, Trello, or similar. * Hold weekly student check-ins. * Send parent progress updates. * Keep deadlines visible and organized. Ideal background: . * Experience with high-achieving students applying to selective U.S. colleges. * Familiarity with merit scholarships. * Experience with STEM or engineering applicants preferred. * Strong organizational/project management skills. * Warm but firm accountability * Former admissions officer, high school college counselor, independent educational consultant, or experienced college admissions coach
