E-Commerce site manager

E-Commerce Site Manager (Remote / Offshore) WooCommerce · Printful · WP Engine Role Summary We're hiring a remote E-Commerce Site Manager to own the day-to-day operation of the store: product listings, inventory, Printful sync, order flow, and ongoing site quality. Your first mandate is to bring our Printful integration under control — consistent naming, pricing, imagery, categorization, and shipping behavior across the entire catalog — and then keep it that way as new drops launch. You'll work in close collaboration with our internal developer (site architecture, custom functionality, hosting) and designer (product art, brand assets, page layouts). You are not expected to write code or create designs — you're the operator who keeps the store accurate, consistent, and running, and who flags what dev and design need to fix or produce. Core Responsibilities Printful Integration & Catalog Consistency (primary mandate) Audit the full Printful → WooCommerce catalog and establish a single source of truth for product data. Standardize product naming conventions, SKUs, categories, tags, and attributes (e.g., eliminate inconsistencies like "Flip-Flops" vs "Flip Flops" across variants of the same product line). Replace pass-through Printful default retail pricing with brand-approved pricing tiers and margin targets; maintain a pricing sheet and apply it consistently. Manage Printful product templates, mockups, and variant setup; coordinate with the designer for print files and lifestyle imagery that match brand standards. Monitor and resolve sync issues: orphaned products, duplicate listings, failed syncs, variant mismatches, and out-of-stock Printful items still showing as purchasable. Configure and test shipping profiles so mixed carts (Printful + proprietary inventory) calculate rates correctly and set accurate delivery expectations. Proprietary Inventory Management Maintain accurate stock counts for non-Printful products (glass, box sets, limited editions) in WooCommerce. Manage limited-edition logic: numbered runs, stock caps, scheduled retirement of collections at end of their 90-day window, and preventing oversells. Coordinate drop launches: stage products in draft, verify all data, schedule publication, and confirm everything renders correctly at go-live. Order & Fulfillment Operations Monitor daily order flow across both fulfillment paths (Printful auto-fulfillment and in-house shipping). Triage fulfillment errors, address issues, holds, and Printful production delays; escalate to the team when needed. Support customer service on order status, returns/exchanges (per Printful policy vs. house policy), and shipping inquiries via the sales inbox. Site Quality & Maintenance Perform recurring site QA: broken links, duplicate content blocks, typos, malformed embeds/widgets, image issues, and mobile rendering problems — logging issues and routing them to the developer with clear reproduction steps. Keep navigation, footer links, product category pages, and the store locator accurate and current. Maintain product page SEO basics: titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and clean URLs (working within existing SEO plugin setup). Verify legal/compliance elements remain intact on relevant pages (age gating, NY OCM disclaimers, terms and privacy links) and flag anything that drifts. Coordinate with the developer on plugin updates and staging-site testing on WP Engine before changes go to production. Reporting & Collaboration Maintain a shared catalog tracker (products, status, pricing, sync state) visible to the internal team. Provide a weekly summary: sales snapshot, sync/fulfillment issues resolved and open, site issues logged, and upcoming drop tasks. Join a recurring weekly video call with the internal team (US Eastern Time hours) and remain reachable async via Slack/email during agreed overlap hours. Requirements 3+ years hands-on experience managing a WooCommerce store (admin-level: products, variations, orders, coupons, shipping zones, tax settings). Direct experience with the Printful–WooCommerce integration (or Printful with Shopify/Etsy plus willingness to learn our stack quickly): product push, sync management, mockup generation, and fulfillment troubleshooting. Comfortable working in WordPress admin; familiarity with staging/production workflows (WP Engine experience a plus). Strong attention to detail — you notice a hyphen inconsistency, a price that doesn't match the sheet, or a duplicate listing before customers do. Solid written English and clear async communication; able to document issues so a developer can act on them without back-and-forth. Basic image handling skills (cropping, resizing, exporting to web formats like WebP); no design work required. Spreadsheet proficiency for catalog trackers and pricing sheets. Availability with at least 3–4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time. Nice to Have Experience with limited-drop or streetwear/lifestyle e-commerce models. Familiarity with Bricks Builder or other WordPress page builders. Basic HTML/CSS literacy (enough to spot and describe rendering issues, not to build). Experience with regulated-product marketing constraints (cannabis, alcohol, CBD) — understanding what can and can't be sold or claimed online. Google Analytics / Site Kit familiarity. Customer service tooling experience (shared inbox, help desk). What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) Days 1–30: Complete a full catalog audit; deliver a findings report and a proposed naming, pricing, and category standard. Fix the highest-impact inconsistencies. Days 31–60: Full Printful catalog conforms to the new standard; shipping profiles tested for mixed carts; catalog tracker and weekly reporting cadence live. Days 61–90: Run a product drop end-to-end (staging → QA → launch → retirement scheduling) with zero listing errors; recurring QA process in place with a documented issue backlog for dev. Ongoing KPIs Catalog consistency score (naming/pricing/category conformance) at or near 100%. Printful sync errors detected and resolved within 24 hours. Zero oversells on limited-edition proprietary inventory. Order-issue response time within agreed SLA. Weekly report delivered on time. Engagement Details Type: Full-time remote contractor (offshore welcome). Hours: ~40 hrs/week with defined US Eastern overlap window. Reports to: [Internal E-Commerce / Brand Lead] Works with: Internal Developer, Internal Designer, Customer Service. Compensation: [Rate range] — commensurate with experience and region. How to Apply Send the following to [hiring email]: Resume/CV with links to WooCommerce + Printful stores you've managed (describe your specific role). A short note (5–10 sentences) describing a Printful sync or catalog-consistency problem you've solved and how. Your time zone and available US Eastern overlap hours. Your rate expectations. Applications without item 2 will not be reviewed — attention to detail starts here.
