Commercial Solar PV Pre-Sales Designer

We are looking for a part-time commercial solar PV design/proposal assistant to help us prepare fast preliminary rooftop solar designs and quote-ready summaries for commercial buildings in Ontario, Canada. This is not a full engineering role. We need pre-sales feasibility designs that help us quickly estimate rooftop solar system size, production, and budget pricing before moving to final engineering. We expect approximately 20 preliminary designs per month, depending on lead volume. Responsibilities: Review commercial building addresses using Google Earth, satellite imagery, and solar design tools Estimate usable rooftop area Prepare preliminary rooftop solar layouts Estimate system size in kW DC Estimate approximate number of solar panels Estimate annual energy production Identify obvious roof obstacles such as HVAC units, setbacks, shading, skylights, and unusable roof areas Work from customer electricity bills or annual kWh usage when available Help prepare basic proposal numbers using our provided pricing assumptions Clearly list assumptions, limitations, and confidence level for each design Preferred experience: Commercial rooftop solar PV design Experience with OpenSolar, HelioScope, Aurora Solar, PVsyst, AutoCAD, or similar tools Ability to use Google Earth / satellite imagery for rooftop review Basic understanding of solar production estimates, DC/AC ratios, module layout, setbacks, and shading Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Good written English Fast turnaround Typical project input: Building address Customer electricity bill or estimated annual usage, when available Target offset percentage or maximum rooftop solar size Our pricing assumptions Typical deliverable: Estimated system size in kW DC Approximate number of panels Estimated annual production Basic rooftop layout image or screenshot Notes on roof constraints Quote-ready summary Confidence level and assumptions This work is for preliminary sales proposals only. Final engineering, structural review, utility approval, permitting, and stamped drawings will be handled separately.
