Community Manager for Travel Brands

We are looking for an experienced Community Manager / Social Media Content Creator to support two established travel brands: Travel Republic and Netflights. UK-based freelancers only, please. We are specifically looking for someone based in the United Kingdom, with excellent UK English, a strong understanding of UK social media trends, and good knowledge of the UK travel market. This is an ongoing freelance role focused on creating, preparing and managing social media content for both brands across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The role is not limited to video content: we are looking for someone who can create a mix of social-first assets, including Reels, carousels, Stories, short-form videos and static posts where needed. You will work from a clearly structured content calendar, which will include publishing dates, content themes, campaign priorities, copy guidance, visual references and examples of the type of content required. The ideal freelancer should be able to follow a detailed brief accurately, while also bringing creativity, initiative and a good understanding of what performs well on each platform. The main focus will be on Instagram and Facebook content, with Reels adapted and repurposed for TikTok and YouTube Shorts where relevant. You will also help create and organise a Stories calendar for both brands, focused on product-led content, destinations, offers, travel inspiration, engagement prompts and brand awareness. The expected publishing frequency is approximately two to four posts per week, depending on business needs and the content calendar. The role will initially require around eight hours per week, either as one full working day or split across the week. Key responsibilities will include: Creating social media content for Travel Republic and Netflights, including Reels, carousels, Stories, short-form videos and occasional static posts. Following a detailed content calendar with clear instructions, content themes, copy direction and visual references. Adapting content for different platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Creating and preparing Instagram and Facebook Stories for both brands, with a focus on destinations, offers, travel inspiration, product highlights and engagement. Writing clear, engaging and brand-appropriate captions in UK English. Preparing, scheduling or publishing posts across the relevant social media platforms. Repurposing existing assets into social-first formats where needed. Using Canva to create polished carousels, Stories, static assets and other branded social content. Using CapCut to edit Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts and other short-form video content. Selecting suitable visuals, clips, layouts, hooks, captions, audio or formats based on the content brief. Responding to comments and direct messages that are not related to customer service. Escalating customer service queries to the appropriate internal team when required. Monitoring community engagement and identifying recurring questions, comments, trends or content opportunities. Preparing a monthly social media report using an existing reporting structure, including key performance metrics and observations on what worked well. Suggesting content ideas, trends, formats, audio, hooks or creative opportunities that could be relevant for each brand. Helping maintain a consistent tone of voice, visual identity and brand presence across both brands. We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, detail-oriented and confident creating engaging content for social media. A strong understanding of Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram carousels and Stories is important, as well as the ability to create content that feels native to each platform. Strong working knowledge of Canva and CapCut is required. You should be confident using Canva to design social media assets such as carousels, Stories and static posts, and CapCut to edit short-form video content, including transitions, subtitles, hooks, music, pacing and platform-friendly formats. Experience working with travel, lifestyle, hospitality, consumer or e-commerce brands would be a strong advantage. The ideal freelancer will be able to take a detailed brief and turn it into polished, engaging content that feels natural, inspiring and aligned with each brand’s guidelines. You should be comfortable working independently, managing your time effectively and delivering content to agreed deadlines. You should also be able to understand the difference between brand engagement and customer service, escalating anything related to bookings, complaints or customer support to the correct internal team. Experience using Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, scheduling tools or reporting templates would be helpful. Basic performance analysis is also useful, as you will be asked to contribute to a monthly report using a structure that is already in place. Please include examples of social media accounts, Reels, carousels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, Stories or other content you have previously created or managed. Travel-related examples are especially welcome. If possible, please also include examples of content created using Canva and CapCut. This is an ongoing freelance role, starting with approximately eight hours per week, with the potential to grow depending on performance, content needs and business requirements.
