Data and Business Operations Analyst

Summary: We currently manage a range of renewable energy and energy efficiency impact funds investing in Africa, financial inclusion funds dedicated to social and gender impact globally, and nature-based solutions fund dedicated to sustainable management of forests in Latin America. We are looking for an experienced Power BI Report Developer to join the data team within Finance, Risk & Operations on a short-term engagement. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role designed to accelerate the build-out of our Power BI reporting capability during the blitz period. Responsibilities: • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business requirements across multiple funds and platforms • Translate business needs into report specifications, working with non-technical colleagues to understand data and reporting requirements • Standardise and template report designs to ensure a consistent look, feel and user experience across all company dashboards • Build and optimise data models within Power BI, including writing DAX measures, calculated columns and Power Query (M) transformations to support robust, performant reporting • Connect to existing data sources, primarily Azure SQL databases and Power BI semantic models, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across reports • Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy of calculations, data integrity and usability before deployment • Document report designs, data models, DAX logic and any assumptions to support handover and ongoing maintenance by the internal team Required qualifications: • Demonstrable and extensive experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards for businesses • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including report design, data modelling, DAX, and Power Query (M) • Strong SQL skills, with experience querying relational databases • Experience with data visualisation best practices, including layout, colour, accessibility and user experience design • Ability to work independently and at pace in a fast-moving, delivery-focused environment • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders and translate requirements into effective reporting solutions Desirable: • Familiarity with financial concepts
