UX/UI Designer — OS App & Website Company: (RPC) Product: RPC OS Role: UX/UI Designer Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire About RPC OS Riverside Park Capital is building RPC OS, an AI-enabled lending platform designed to take a commercial or residential investment loan from initial borrower inquiry through qualification, underwriting, processing, approval, documentation, closing, and post-closing. The objective is simple: make obtaining a commercial or investment-property loan dramatically easier, faster, and more transparent. RPC OS will support: * Residential DSCR loans * Fix & Flip loans * Ground-Up Residential Construction * Commercial Permanent loans * Commercial Bridge loans * SBA 7(a) * SBA 504 * Loan amounts ranging from approximately $100,000 to $25+ million The platform will integrate the customer-facing RPC website and mobile application with our internal CRM, AI agents, underwriting, processing, document collection, communications, and loan-closing workflow. The Role We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who can simplify a complicated financial process into an extremely intuitive digital experience. This is not primarily a branding or graphic-design position. The designer’s core responsibility is to determine how RPC OS should work from the user’s perspective and then create the interfaces, workflows, prototypes, and design system necessary for developers to build it. The standard should be: A borrower with virtually no knowledge of commercial finance should be able to submit, understand, and track a loan without needing instructions. What You Will Design 1. RPC Website Redesign and optimize the RPC website around loan conversion. Key experiences include: * Homepage * Loan-product pages * Live/indicative rates * “Get a Quote” workflow * “Submit a Deal” workflow * Borrower qualification * Document upload * Appointment scheduling * Application progress * Calls to action * Mobile-responsive experience The website should progressively collect information instead of confronting borrowers with long financial forms. 2. RPC OS Borrower App Design the iPhone/mobile experience for borrowers and brokers. Core screens include: * Login / account creation * New loan request * Property information * Borrower information * Loan-type selection * AI-guided loan intake * Loan options * Document checklist * Secure document upload * Outstanding conditions * Application status * Underwriting status * Messages * Notifications * Closing status * Closed-loan dashboard * Refinance / new-loan opportunities A borrower should immediately understand: Where is my loan? What does RPC need from me? What happens next? 3. Intelligent Loan Intake Create dynamic intake workflows where questions change depending on the transaction. For example: What are you financing? Residential Investment Property Commercial Property Business / SBA The experience then branches automatically based upon the user’s answers. The designer will map UX flows for: * Purchase vs. refinance * Rate/term vs. cash-out refinance * DSCR * Fix & Flip * Ground-Up Construction * Commercial Permanent * Commercial Bridge * SBA 7(a) * SBA 504 The objective is to collect only information actually required at that stage. 4. AI Experience AI should be integrated into the product rather than added as a generic chatbot. Design interactions where AI can: * Guide borrowers through applications * Explain financial terminology * Identify missing information * Recommend the appropriate loan program * Answer borrower questions * Summarize uploaded documents * Request missing documents * Assist loan originators * Assist processors * Assist underwriters * Flag potential problems * Generate next actions The user should always understand what the AI is doing, what requires human review, and what action is required next. 5. Internal RPC Operating System Design the employee-facing interface used by: SDR → Loan Originator → Processor → Underwriter → Loan Closer Core functionality includes: * Lead dashboard * Loan pipeline * Borrower profile * Property profile * Deal summary * Loan structure * AI qualification * Document management * Conditions * Underwriting * Credit analysis * Approval status * Tasks * Communications * Closing checklist * Loan closing * Reporting The system should minimize duplicate data entry and unnecessary clicks. Critical Workflow The designer must map the complete customer and employee journey: Lead → Qualification → Loan Selection → Application → Documents → Processing → Underwriting → Approval → Conditions → Closing → Funded Every stage should clearly identify: User → Required Action → Data Required → AI Action → Human Action → Status → Next Step UX Principles RPC OS should feel more like a modern fintech application than traditional banking software. We want: * Minimal clicks * Short forms * Progressive disclosure * Plain-English questions * Strong information hierarchy * Mobile-first design * Clear status indicators * Visible next actions * Intelligent defaults * Automated data population * Consistent navigation * Fast document upload * Excellent error handling * Accessibility * Trust and security cues Complexity should exist behind the interface, not in front of the customer. Deliverables The designer will be expected to produce: Discovery * User personas * Borrower journey * Broker journey * Employee journey * Current-state analysis * Competitive UX analysis Architecture * Information architecture * Sitemap * Navigation architecture * User-flow diagrams * Loan-intake decision trees * Internal workflow diagrams Wireframes Low-fidelity wireframes covering all major website, app, and employee workflows. Figma Designs Production-ready high-fidelity designs for: * Desktop * Mobile web * iPhone/mobile app * Internal RPC OS Design System Build a reusable RPC component library including: * Typography * Buttons * Inputs * Dropdowns * Cards * Tables * Navigation * Modals * Alerts * Status indicators * Progress bars * Document components * Loan components * Dashboard components Interactive Prototype Create clickable prototypes demonstrating the primary end-to-end workflows before development. Developer Handoff Provide developers with: * Figma files * Component specifications * Responsive behavior * Interaction states * Error states * Loading states * Empty states * Design tokens * User-flow documentation * Acceptance criteria The designer should remain involved during development to review implementations and prevent design degradation. Required Experience We are looking for someone with strong experience in: * UX design * UI design * Product design * Figma * Mobile applications * Responsive web applications * SaaS dashboards * Complex workflows * Design systems * User testing * Developer handoff Experience designing products involving fintech, lending, banking, insurance, payments, real estate, CRM, or workflow automation is strongly preferred. What We Do NOT Want We are not looking for someone whose portfolio is primarily attractive landing pages. We need a product designer capable of systems thinking. A beautiful interface with a confusing workflow is a failed design. Candidates should be able to demonstrate how they have previously taken a complicated process and reduced it into a simple, intuitive user experience. Success Metrics The designer’s work will ultimately be measured against: * Higher application completion rate * Lower application abandonment * Faster time to submit a loan * Fewer borrower questions * Fewer missing documents * Faster processing * Faster underwriting * Reduced employee data entry * Fewer clicks per loan * Higher borrower satisfaction * Increased website-to-application conversion * Increased application-to-closing conversion Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate thinks simultaneously like a: Product Designer + Borrower + Loan Officer + Software Architect You should constantly ask: “Why does the user need to do this?” If a field, screen, click, or workflow step does not create value or satisfy a genuine lending requirement, it should be challenged. Application Requirements Please provide: 1. Portfolio 2. Figma examples 3. Examples of complex SaaS or fintech workflows 4. Examples of mobile applications you have designed 5. Example of a product you simplified 6. Your specific role on each project 7. Availability 8. Hourly rate or compensation expectations Portfolio submissions consisting primarily of marketing websites without substantive product UX work will not be considered. Initial Assignment The first objective will be to design the RPC OS MVP borrower journey: Website → Get a Quote → Dynamic Loan Intake → AI Qualification → Account Creation → Document Upload → Loan Dashboard → Underwriting/Conditions → Closing Once that workflow is validated, the design system will expand into the employee-facing RPC OS used by originations, processing, underwriting, and closing.
