DevOps Engineer – Kafka / Streaming Platform

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Apache Kafka and modern streaming platforms to support the operation and further development of a large-scale event streaming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for operating Kafka clusters in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, automating infrastructure deployments through GitOps, and ensuring a secure, highly available, and scalable platform. Your Responsibilities Build, operate, and maintain Apache Kafka streaming platforms (e.g., Strimzi, AMQ Streams, or Confluent Platform) Administer Kafka clusters on Kubernetes/OpenShift, including topics, partitions, ACLs, certificates, and security configurations Ensure reliable platform operation through TLS/SSL authentication, monitoring, incident management, and performance tuning Deploy infrastructure changes using GitOps methodologies with ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines Automate infrastructure provisioning using Helm, Terraform, and Kubernetes-native tooling Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support Configure and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana Execute patch management, platform optimization, and capacity planning to ensure stability and high availability Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional experience operating and administering Apache Kafka Hands-on experience with at least one Kafka distribution or operator, such as: Strimzi AMQ Streams Confluent Platform Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift Solid Linux administration skills, including Bash scripting Experience with infrastructure automation and GitOps practices Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD Experience with monitoring and logging solutions, especially Prometheus and Grafana Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Structured, independent working style with a passion for modern infrastructure technologies ⚠️ Important: Candidates who attach a CV to their application will be prioritized.
